GreenSky Home Improvement Loans
GreenSky is an innovative financing platform for home improvement with easy application, rapid approvals, and a six month period to get your project finished before payments are required.
USDA Small Business Options
The US Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program offers grants and loans to qualifying small businesses for insulation and other upgrades. If your small business is located in a rural area or you work from home, you may qualify. Learn more on the USDA site.
Specialty Mortgages
The Energy Star program maintains a page with good information on Energy Efficient Mortgage options with links to providers. Big government-backed mortgage providers such as the Veterans Administration and Federal Housing Administration have specific programs for purchasing or refinancing a home while funding new energy efficiency upgrades. Other state and local programs may exist in your area too.
eScore Loan Program
Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, in conjunction with the TVA, will finance upgrades provided by Energy Home Solutions, as we are member of the TVA Quality Contractor network. This program covers insulation, air sealing, and much more. Learn more on the Vanderbilt website.

Local Power Company
Your local power company may offer on-bill financing options. These typically will pay for your project up-front and spread the cost to you in installments on your power bill over a period of years. Contact your local power provider to inquire.
Local Credit Union
Your local credit union or community bank is a great resource to help fund energy efficiency improvements. They frequently offer home equity line of credit (HELOC) products with very low or no upfront costs, low interest rates, and flexible payment schedules. Check with your local lenders.
National online lenders like Lending Club also offered unsecured short term personal loans, though rates may be a bit higher than a HELOC.
